SIOUX CITY, Iowa – A combined three Morningside College cheer and dance student-athletes earned National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics’ Scholar-Athlete accolades with the announcement made Friday, March 8.

Junior Abby Sitzmann (Kingsley, Iowa)was the cheer honoree, and the duo of senior Kayla Inlay (Sioux City, Iowa) and junior Alison Wright (Rock Rapids, Iowa) gained dance recognition for head coach Alisha Steckler’s teams. It’s the fourth straight year in which the Mustangs have had at least one person recognized.

In order to be nominated by an institution, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and must have achieved a junior academic status to qualify for this honor.
