SIOUX CITY, Iowa– The 2019 Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) Cheer and Dance All-Conference Team has been selected. This is the second year that the GPAC is naming All-Conference performers for Cheer and Dance.
Kayla Inlay from Morningside was selected as the Hauff Mid-America Sports/GPAC Cheer Athlete-of-the-Year and Shaffrea Hopson from Midland has been selected as the Hauff Mid-America Sports/GPAC Dance Athlete- of-the-Year
To be selected to the All-Conference teams the student-athletes needed to perform a set of skills as outlined bythe NAIA Cheer and Dance Coaches’ Handbook. A minimum score on these skills (as judged) was required forselection to the teams.
Mikaelah Molifua from Hastings was named the Hauff Mid-America Sports/GPAC Cheer Coach-of-the-Year. Alisha Steckler from Morningside was named the Hauff Mid-America Sports/GPAC Dance Coach-of-the-Year.
The Midland Cheer and Dance teams won the GPAC Championships on Saturday, Feb. 9, at Hastings College in Hastings, Nebraska.
