HASTINGS, Neb. – The Great Plains Athletic Conference Cheer and Dance Championships were held Saturday with eight schools represented on the day.
Northwestern’s cheer team finished second in the cheer competition, the team’s highest-ever finish at the event. The Red Raiders came in second to defending champion Midland by just less than three points, 69.92-67.08.
Morningside’s dance team was coming off two dual victories, but couldn’t quite top defending champion Midland. The Mustangs earned a runner-up spot, coming in second to the Warriors, 84.33-75.50.
Midland hosts the NAIA regional competition on Friday, Feb. 22.
