SIOUX CITY – Jay Wolfe keyed an 11-2 run in the closing minutes to secure a 92-83 win for 12th-ranked Briar Cliff over Northwestern.
Wolfe scored nine of his game-high 33 points in the final two and a half minutes, unlocking an 81-81 tie. The senior from Creston nearly recorded a double-double with nine rebounds on the night.
The game was close throughout and was tied 14 times.
Jackson Lamb had 20 points and Ethan Friedel put in 17 in the victory.
Northwestern’s Trent Hilbrands led the Red Raiders with 26 points and teammate Parker Mulder notched a double-double with 17 points and 10 boards.
