GREENVILLE, S.C. – The NCCAA is pleased to announce Trey Miller of Asbury University as the 2021 NCCAA Kyle Rote, Jr. Award Recipient for Division I Men’s Soccer.
Trey Miller, the senior goalkeeper from Wilmore, Ky., is an excellent example of Christ-like leadership. Throughout his time at Asbury, he has been molded into a man of character, exhibiting Christ’s example.
While competing at a very high level, Miller holds leadership roles all over campus. He has served as a local sports ministry organization leader and president of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee. He is also an assistant resident director. As team captain, he leads small groups and Bible studies with his teammates. Upon graduating, Miller plans to lead and serve in ministry in Puerto Rico.
Miller serves in all of these areas while excelling in both his studies and on the field. The business management major has a 3.45 GPA. This year, Miller was awarded River States Conference First-Team Scholar-Athlete. He was previously named First-Team All-Conference, Champions of Character representative, and awarded the Asbury University Frank B. & Lucille Fryman Award for character, performance, and service.
“He is wise beyond his years and is committed in all things (faith, academics, health, relationships),” Asbury head men’s soccer coach Ben Andrews said. “He selflessly leads his peers and invests in their present, future, and eternity.”
