DAYTON, Tenn. – The women’s volleyball program at Thomas More dropped their first set of their early season on Saturday against Bryan, but did not drop another set the rest of the day, defeating Bryan 3-1 and Oakland City 3-0.
Game 1: Thomas More wins 3-1 over Bryan
- The Saints won by scores of 27-25, 25-23, and 25-20
- The Lions won the first set by a score of 25-17
- Senior Emily Mohs (Cincinnati, Ohio / Seton) had 24 kills in the game and four assisted blocks.
- First-year Asia Ferrando (Masone, Italy / Barletti Ovada) tallied 30 digs and seven assists.
- Junior Sawyer Lorentz (Dover, Ohio / Dover) recorded 11 kills with one solo block and two assisted.
- Senior Lizzie Schoenfeld (Cincinnati, Ohio / Seton) had a team high 25 assists with three digs.
- Junior Ally Albrinck (Cincinnati, Ohio / Mercy McAuley) recorded 11 kills and two assisted blocks.
- Thomas More gets win over 2020 (2021) national qualifier Bryan.
Game 2: Thomas More defeats Oakland City, 3-0.
- Thomas More won by scores of 27-25, 25-15, and 25-21 over the Mighty Oaks.
- Emily Mohs notched 16 kills and three assisted blocks in the three sets.
- Lizzie Schoenfeld recorded 14 assists.
- Asia Ferrando had 12 digs and a assist.
- First-year Sam McClanahan (Georgetown, Ky. / Scott County) tallied 11 assists.
- First-Year Ruthie Neu (Greenwood, Ind. / Roncalli) had three service aces.
The women’s volleyball team will return to the court on Sept. 1, where they will host Mount St. Joseph in the Connor Convocation Center at 7 p.m. ET.
