{"id":707,"date":"2019-02-09T14:15:11","date_gmt":"2019-02-09T19:15:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/kentuckysports.net\/?p=707"},"modified":"2020-11-03T09:01:39","modified_gmt":"2020-11-03T14:01:39","slug":"vikings-set-to-dedicate-game-to-jon-danielson","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/kentuckysports.net\/?p=707","title":{"rendered":"Vikings set to dedicate game to Jon Danielson"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"13c398acb195b4bd84e993cb56669758\" data-index=\"6\" style=\"float: none; margin:10px 0 10px 0; text-align:center;\">\n<script async src=\"\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js\"><\/script>\r\n<!-- Above Post Ad 2 -->\r\n<ins class=\"adsbygoogle\"\r\n     style=\"display:inline-block;width:638px;height:70px\"\r\n     data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-4024319323781499\"\r\n     data-ad-slot=\"8631827568\"><\/ins>\r\n<script>\r\n(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});\r\n<\/script>\n<\/div>\n<p><em>GV Athletics<\/em><br \/>\n<em>Jeri Nagle, Sports Information Director<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>DES MOINES \u2014\u00a0<\/strong>The Grand View women&#8217;s basketball team circles one game on their schedule each season to share awareness on cancer.\u00a0 This year the team has decided to dedicate the game to a supporter who is close to their hearts.<\/p>\n<p>Jon Danielson, who is currently battling cancer, will be honored at Grand View&#8217;s game against Mount Mercy on Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2019.\u00a0 Danielson&#8217;s daughter, Rachel Danielson (JR\/Mason City, Iowa) is the Vikings point guard.\u00a0 Cancer first struck Jon Danielson in January of 2015 when he was diagnosed with stage four colon cancer.\u00a0 The doctors also revealed to him at the time that the cancer was in his lungs as well.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;One thing about my dad is he is a resilient person&#8221; Rachel said about her father.
